punchline - green light: rory from adamriff.com told me about punchline's 'green light'. and it's grown on me. it's pop punk at it's best, and the chorus is truly explosively good. i really enjoy the song from these boys from pittsburgh immensely.
coldplay - can't get you out of my head (kylie minogue cover): wowza. i fucking love kylie minogue, and i really do like coldplay quite a bit. and god bless chris martin for honoring someone who's can't be there because she's got breast cancer (this track is pretty old, frankly, but it's live, and the crowd loves it. and the chris does quite a nice job on it, frankly.)
bruce springsteen, elvis costello, dave grohl, and steven van zandt - london calling (the clash cover): honestly, this was at the 03 grammys, and it still blows me away. we're talking about four of the best musicians on the planet singing the best fucking song ever written. it's a tribute the awesomeness that is the clash and joe strummer. plus, tony from no doubt is on bass, and he's a very good bassist.
paul johnson - get get down: honestly, it's songs like this remind me of my first year of college and going to clubs. it was funny, because i had no idea what the song was until i asked derek and, of course, he knew (since he knows all bad music as well as i do). it's a horrid dance pop song, but dammit, it's fun. like prozzak, it never broke here in the states (as far as i know), but it's one of those songs that stuck with me through the years.
soundhog - fill me sister in (craig david's "fill me in" vs. soundtrack of our lives "sister surround"): one of my favorite all-time underrated mashups. it's over five and a half minutes long, and it's truly terrific. soundhog's audio mashing is really amazing, and far better than most mashups, especially considering mashup technology has advance a lot in the last three years, and he put this one out back in early 2003. it's slammingly good. (that's my new word. slamming. get used to it. maybe. please?)
enjoy it.
good news - in a few days, i'll something pretty... special, frankly. also, again, sorry about the template. i'm working on it.
