She Makes Me Feel Kind Of Funny - Like When We Used To Climb The Rope In Gym Class...

Ah, who doesn't love Wayne's World? No one, that's right.
Well, today's music comes to us thanks to the Decaydance label and, more specifically, the hip-hop group Gym Class Heroes.

These boys from Geneva, New York have started to make some waves, as they are now favorites on mtvU, MySpace legends (more on that later), and are even featured on the Snakes On A Plane soundtrack (both in the title track and in a remix of their song "New Friend Request").

Today, however, I'm going to talk about one of their older songs, a track off The Papercut Chronicles album from 2005, and the track Cupid's Chokehold, which features Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy. But what's fascinating about this song is that you've got Stump singing the hook, which is taken from the Supertramp song "Breakfast in America" off the eponymous album. This is now the second hip-hop song I can think of that samples Supertramp (the first being Fabolous' track "Breathe", which sampled "Crime Of The Century"), and that excites me. Here's the video.

I've also got another Gym Class Heroes song... featuring Papoose. Which was odd, at first, but the remix of "New Friend Request" is honestly worth hearing just to listen to Papoose spit about how much he loves MySpace and how he believes it's the best invention of all time. It's pretty funny, but it's also pretty amazing that a rapper who seemingly had no connection to things like MySpace has adopted it like he has.
