I'm tryin!

I'm going to try here to keep up to date. My very best. It's slowed down a little bit here at work, so I've got a few free minutes.

These are all songs I'm listening to on the regular (as Justin Timberlake would say in his truly awesome "My Love" with T.I. - but I won't link that in fear of the Gods of Intellectual Property, but it's pretty much a contender for the top song of the year).

Feist - Mushaboom (k-os Remix): You already know my love of k-os - and his remix of the already stellar "Mushaboom" is fantastic. I only wish that there were more remixed work by him, because I dig it. I think that this version of the song may even be better than the original, which is pretty high praise.

DJ Sunderland - Supermassive Mandy: I know I'm late on posting this one, but it's just so damned good. The keys are the same, the pitch is the same - and you know I love the song "Oh Mandy", so a mashup featuring that song is just aces to someone like me.

Damone - Out Here All Night: Don't judge me for my love of Damone - I remember hearing their cover of The Cars "Just What I Needed" and loved it. This song, while far harder in style, is just a riot of guitars, drums, and vocals - and she's, what, 17? 18? That's nuts. She rocks pretty fucking hard.

Kanye West - '03 Til Infinity: So the original, by the Souls of Mischief is one of my favorite hip-hop songs of all time - and this "remake" by Kanye is pretty good too, although he goes on for quite some time at the end of the song with a list of DJs that he's chilling with. It's a bit annoying and about a minute longer than the original, but hey. That's Kanye for you, I guess.

Nelly Furtado feat. Chris Martin - All Good Things Must Come To An End: An unused version of the song on the Loose album, this track features Martin of Coldplay singing the hook - I like it a lot better than the original, and it's always fun to hear Martin say "Give Me A Sick Beat" - I just think it's funny.

Lady Sovereign - Love Me Or Hate Me: Finally, we've got the new single from the S-O-V, a BANGING track that beats out any of her old work. This is the kind of song that could propel her into the US market - which would be great.
